Bahraich-Nepalganj railway line set to launch with new train services on August 31

Preparations are in their final stages for the inauguration of the newly constructed, electrified Bahraich-Nanpara-Nepalganj Road broad gauge railway line on August 31, 2026. The historic launch will take place from Rupaidheeha railway station in Bahraich and will mark the extension of several key train services to Nepalganj Road. The event will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw through video conferencing.

District Magistrate Akshay Tripathi and Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava conducted a comprehensive site inspection of Rupaidheeha railway station, the public meeting venue, helipad, and parking areas to assess the readiness for the inauguration. They were accompanied by Nanpara MLA Ram Niwas Verma, Additional District Magistrate Amit Kumar, Chief Revenue Officer Saurabh Dubey, Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Durga Prasad, and other officials. During the inspection, officials reviewed arrangements for passenger seating, drinking water facilities, cleanliness, parking, and security measures.

The railway line extension will enable the operation of several trains to Nepalganj Road, including the Varanasi-Bahraich Express (train number 14213/14), Varanasi City-Gorakhpur Express (train number 15131/32), and DEMU trains running between Gonda and Bahraich (train numbers 75109/10 and 75111/75112). The District Magistrate instructed all concerned departments to complete preparations at every level without any shortcomings, emphasizing that officials must discharge their duties with utmost seriousness.

The Superintendent of Police reviewed security arrangements at the venue and railway station, focusing on crowd management, VIP movement, parking facilities, and passenger safety. He examined the deployment of police forces and other security measures to ensure smooth conduct of the event. Officials directed all departments to complete preparations in a time-bound manner while maintaining special attention to traffic management, security, cleanliness, and public amenities during the program.
