Auto overturned after driver swerved to avoid speeding motorcycle on wrong side

An auto-rickshaw overturned into a roadside ditch on the Ayodhya National Highway near Alinagar in Amethi after the driver swerved to avoid a speeding motorcycle rider coming from the wrong side. The incident took place in the Bhale Sultan Shaheed Smarak police station area and left several passengers injured.

According to reports, the auto was heading towards Kumarganj when a motorcycle approaching at high speed from the wrong side of the highway forced the driver to take evasive action. In an attempt to avoid a collision with the two-wheeler, the auto veered off the road and plunged into a ditch alongside the highway.

Villagers from the area rushed to the spot after hearing the cries of the injured passengers trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Local residents managed to pull out all the occupants safely from the wreckage. The quick response by villagers prevented what could have been a more serious tragedy.

Those who sustained minor injuries in the accident were sent to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The condition of the injured passengers is reported to be stable. Police have been informed about the incident.

The accident highlights the persistent problem of wrong-side driving and overspeeding on highways, which continues to endanger lives. Authorities have repeatedly warned commuters against reckless driving, but such incidents remain common on busy routes.
