Amethi schools shut for classes 1-8 as heavy rains continue

The education department in Amethi district has declared a holiday for schools on August 31 following continuous rainfall over the past several days. The decision affects all students from classes 1 to 8 studying in council-run, recognized, and government-aided schools across the district.

The closure was announced by the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) acting on the instructions of Sanjay Chauhan, after taking into account weather forecasts issued by the meteorological department. The order applies to all primary and upper primary schools falling under the jurisdiction of the district education authorities.

The region has been experiencing intermittent heavy rainfall over the past few days, prompting concerns about student safety and difficulties in commuting to schools. The weather department's predictions indicated that rain would continue, which influenced the administration's decision to keep schools closed for the day as a precautionary measure.
