Amethi police have arrested four suspects who were allegedly planning a robbery, officials said. The arrests were made during a checking drive conducted under Operation Chakravyuh by the Amethi Kotwali police team.
Police recovered two illegal country-made pistols, cartridges and an iron pipe from the possession of the accused at the time of their detention. The suspects were travelling in a car when the police intercepted them during the operation.
Following their arrest, all four accused have been sent to jail, police added. The operation was part of an ongoing crackdown on criminal activities in the district.
