According to police, the victim, a resident of the New Agra police station area, was on her way to deliver food to her father when she encountered Lakshman, who was previously known to her. The accused allegedly took her on his motorcycle to a hotel, where he drugged her, sexually assaulted her, and recorded a video of the incident. Using the video, Lakshman threatened to make it viral and extorted ten thousand rupees from the victim on two separate occasions. He later sent the video to the victim's family members through Instagram.
Based on the victim's complaint, a case was registered at New Agra police station as crime number 113/2026 under sections 64, 123, and 308(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Following the victim's age verification report, sections 5L/6 of the POCSO Act were added to the case. During investigation, evidence emerged that led to the addition of section 67A of the IT Act.
After the IT Act sections were added, the case investigation was transferred to Inspector Crime of Hariparvat police station.
