A. Naseem appointed as Idukki District Police Chief

A. Naseem has officially taken charge as the new Idukki District Police Chief. The appointment was confirmed on Thursday, marking another milestone in his extensive career with the Kerala Police.

Hailing from Karunagappally in Kollam district, Naseem began his journey in law enforcement in 1995 as a sub-vandalism inspector. Over the years, he has held key positions, including Circle Inspector and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP), across Kollam, Alappuzha, and Pathanamthitta districts. In 2021, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) in Thiruvananthapuram city, further solidifying his reputation as a capable officer.

Before his current role, Naseem served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Marine Enforcement for three years. His tenure there was marked by significant contributions to coastal security and enforcement operations. Alongside his professional achievements, he also holds a PhD in Public Administration from Bharathiar University. His doctoral research focused on custodial deaths in Kerala, showcasing his commitment to addressing critical issues within the policing system.

Naseem’s appointment as Idukki District Police Chief comes at a time when the region faces unique challenges, including maintaining law and order in its hilly terrain and addressing environmental concerns. His diverse experience and academic insights are expected to bring a fresh perspective to policing in the district.

With over two decades of service, Naseem’s leadership is anticipated to strengthen the district’s police force and enhance public trust in law enforcement.
