YIDA Clears 50,000 Sqm of Government Land in Chapargadh, Rs 250 Crore Property Reclaimed

The Yamuna Industrial Development Authority (YIDA) on Tuesday, July 10, 2026, carried out a major enforcement drive against illegal encroachment in its notified zone. The operation was conducted under the explicit directions of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rakesh Kumar Singh, with Additional CEO Rajesh Kumar Singh overseeing the on-ground execution.

The targeted area was a 60-metre wide green belt strip in Chapargadh village, where certain individuals had illegally occupied government land by constructing temporary structures and carrying out unauthorised activities. YIDA teams moved in with full force, removing all encroachments and reclaiming approximately 50,000 square metres of land that legally belongs to the authority.

The market value of the retrieved land is estimated at Rs 250 crore, calculated at the rate of Rs 50,000 per square metre. This is a substantial public asset that has now been secured for planned industrial and infrastructure development in the Yamuna expressway corridor.

YIDA officials stated that the operation was carried out smoothly because of the coordination between multiple departments. Sub-Divisional Magistrates Hari Pratap Singh and Shiv Avtar Singh played key roles in ensuring cooperation from local administration. The project department, revenue department, and enforcement teams of the authority worked in close coordination throughout the drive.

To maintain law and order during the operation, units of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and heavy police force were deployed at the site. Their presence ensured that the eviction process proceeded without any untoward incident, and the entire operation was completed peacefully and successfully.

Following the action, YIDA has issued a clear statement reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards illegal occupation, unauthorised construction, or development of unauthorised colonies within notified or acquired areas. The authority has warned that any such activities will invariably attract strict legal action, and enforcement drives will continue to be conducted regularly to protect public land and ensure planned development proceeds without obstruction.
