A 50-year-old woman died after coming into contact with a “jhatka current” fence in Pratapgarh, triggering chaos and grief among her family members.
The incident took place in Dandi Nagarhan Ka Purwa village under the Leelapur police station area. Seema Mishra, wife of Sanjay Kumar Mishra, had left her home on Tuesday morning to pluck flowers for पूजा. During this time, she came in contact with a jhatka current fence installed in a field near her house.
After the family came to know about the incident, they reached the spot and took the woman to the Lalganj Trauma Centre for treatment. At the centre, doctors examined her and declared her dead.
As soon as the news of her death reached the family, there was an atmosphere of panic and mourning among the relatives. The deceased is survived by one married daughter and one son, Vaibhav Mishra.
Police took the body into custody, completed the पंचनामा process and sent it to the district headquarters for post-mortem. Station House Officer Varij Kasera said the body has been sent for post-mortem. He said appropriate action will be taken after a written complaint is received.
