VHP Holds Sambhal Pravas Campaign To Mark Ashok Singhal Centenary

The Vishva Hindu Parishad organised a special pravas campaign in Sambhal today as part of its nationwide pravas programme being run to mark the birth centenary year of late Ashok Singhal, the patron of the organisation and a prominent guiding figure of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.

According to the press note credited to Rajat Malhotra, the campaign in the district was held under the joint leadership of Matrushakti district convenor Deepa Varshney, Durga Vahini district convenor Pratiksha Gupta and Durga Vahini city convenor Soni.

As part of the outreach, district convenor Deepa Varshney, along with her team, carried out public contact and distributed leaflets. The programme was organised under the broader nationwide campaign of the Vishva Hindu Parishad on the occasion of the birth centenary year of Ashok Singhal.

During the pravas, the three women office-bearers interacted with worker sisters of the area and with enlightened women. Addressing the meeting, the speakers highlighted the life of Ashok Singhal, his struggles, and his “incomparable contribution” in organising Hindu society.

Deepa Varshney said Ashok Singhal dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation and dharma. She said that through his birth centenary year, a resolve has been taken to take the message of cultural consciousness and social harmony to every household.

Durga Vahini district convenor Pratiksha Gupta and city convenor Soni also called upon the youth and nari shakti. They said there is a need to connect the young generation with its culture, cow protection, service and self-reliance.

They further said that through Durga Vahini, girls and women are being equipped with the values of self-defence and national defence.

At the pravas meeting, the outline of the organisation’s upcoming service and social programmes was also finalised. The participants also resolved to connect the maximum number of mothers and sisters with the organisation.

Several prominent workers and respected women from the area were present at the programme.
