Uttar Pradesh approves grand Maharishi Kashyap memorial in Muzaffarnagar with Rs 1.31 crore investment

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the construction of a grand memorial dedicated to Maharishi Kashyap in the historic town of Jansat, Muzaffarnagar. State Minister (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap performed the groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday for the ambitious project, which will be developed by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 1.31 crore.

Addressing the gathering at the foundation stone-laying ceremony, State Minister Narendra Kashyap emphasized that taking the glory of Indian culture, the sage tradition, and great personalities to every citizen is a priority for the government. He said the Maharishi Kashyap memorial being built in Jansat will not merely be a statue but a symbol of Indian culture, civilization, and the glorious sage tradition.

The minister pointed out that such a massive and grand statue of Maharishi Kashyap does not exist anywhere else in India. He added that this memorial will serve as a medium to introduce future generations to the history, penance, knowledge, and contributions of Maharishi Kashyap. The development and beautification of the memorial complex is expected to give Jansat a new identity in the cultural and tourism sectors.

Kashyap stated that the increased footfall of devotees, tourists, and history enthusiasts at the site will boost local trade and employment opportunities. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the country is moving forward with pride in its cultural heritage, while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is giving special attention to the conservation and development of sites associated with saints, great personalities, sages, and historical figures in Uttar Pradesh.

The minister expressed confidence that in the coming years, this memorial will establish its own distinct identity among the major cultural and tourism destinations of western Uttar Pradesh. He remarked that the name of Maharishi Kashyap will be remembered for centuries, and this memorial built in his memory will become a center of inspiration for future generations.
