During an interview with Curly Tales in August 2025, Upasana recounted how she once put Ram Charan through a unique test to prove his love for her. At the time, the two were dating, and she devised a bold plan to see how far he would go for her.

Upasana shared that she had asked the actor, who was already a star by then, to take her on a date to a popular ice cream shop called Famous Ice Cream, located in the middle of a bustling market. “I told him, ‘If you really love me, I want you to take me to the Famous Ice Cream,’” she revealed. Despite the challenge of being recognized in public, Ram Charan agreed.

The couple went on the ice cream date, but their outing didn’t go unnoticed. “We had people banging on our doors after that,” Upasana recalled, describing the chaos caused by fans who recognized the actor. However, the incident only proved Ram Charan’s devotion to her, and she quipped that he “passed with flying colours.”

Upasana also reflected on the origins of their relationship, noting that they were friends first and their feelings for each other developed gradually during their college years. “No, we didn’t have sparks. It’s not so filmy; it’s not like Magadheera, where we touched and felt the spark. We lived in reality,” she said.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2012 after years of dating, recently celebrated their 14th anniversary. They marked the occasion by sharing special moments online, including glimpses of their family life. Earlier this year, they welcomed twins, Shivram and Anveera Devi, in January, and also have an elder daughter, Klin Kaara, born in 2023.

Ram Charan, who recently starred in the hit film Peddi and is set to appear in his upcoming project The India House, continues to enjoy a thriving career. Meanwhile, Upasana, a successful businesswoman, remains a steadfast partner, supporting him in his endeavors.
