UP Women's Commission member inspects institutions, addresses women's welfare concerns

Pratibha Kushwaha, a member of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission, conducted an extensive inspection of several institutions in Pratapgarh district, reviewing arrangements related to women and children. During her visit to the One Stop Centre in Bhuliyapur, she interacted with distressed women, listened to their problems, and issued necessary instructions to officials for appropriate action.

At the One Stop Centre, Kushwaha spoke individually with women staying at the facility to understand the incidents and issues they faced. Kajal Gaud, a resident of Sangipur, shared details about her case involving her uncle Rakesh Kumar and her partner Pankaj. Taking the matter seriously, the commission member directed officials to ensure necessary action. The inspection also revealed inadequate provision of nutritious food for women at the centre. Kushwaha immediately instructed officials to provide nutrition according to prescribed standards and quality. She later visited Dahilamaun Primary School, where she participated in a baby shower ceremony for two pregnant women and performed an annaprashan ritual for three children. She extended wishes to the women for Rakshabandhan and Hariyali Teej, praying for their healthy and happy lives.

The Women's Commission member then inspected the Dr. Sonelal Patel Autonomous State Medical College, assessing the facilities and arrangements. She interacted with trainee students, discussing their training and future challenges. Kushwaha encouraged the students to discharge their medical service responsibilities with dedication, sensitivity, and compassion. Principal Dr. Somnath, Assistant Professor Dr. Manjusha Nath, Vice Principal Dr. Rashmi Yadav, CMS Dr. Shailendra Kumar, and Associate Professor Dr. Richa Pandey were present on the occasion.

Subsequently, Kushwaha engaged with women from self-help groups of Sadar tehsil area at the Regional Rural Development Institute Afeem Kothi auditorium. She gathered information about group operations and women's economic activities. The women briefed her on their five-point programme covering weekly meetings, savings, transactions, loan repayment, and accounts. Kushwaha discussed health and education topics while emphasizing the need to promote the purchase and sale of products made by self-help groups. She distributed training certificates to the women. District Programme Officer Jyoti Shakya, District Probation Officer Run Bahadur Verma, MLA Sadar representative Arun Kumar Maurya, and other relevant officials attended the programme.
