Preparations for Simhastha Mahaparv 2028 have gained momentum in Ujjain with the widening and upgrading of three major internal roads beginning under the Municipal Corporation. Municipal Commissioner Abhilash Mishra inspected the sites along with officials and directed them to speed up the work.
The work is being carried out in accordance with the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The Municipal Corporation is taking up the widening and upgrading of key internal roads with funds received from the state government, keeping the Simhastha Mahaparv 2028 in view.
Under this plan, widening work has started on the road from Gadi Adda to Nikas Chauraha, the road from Bombay Wale Ki Dharamshala to Dani Gate, and the road from Gudri Chauraha through Pandariba to Harsiddhi Pal.
On Monday, Municipal Commissioner Abhilash Mishra conducted a site inspection of these roads with the concerned officials. During the inspection, he reviewed the ongoing work and instructed the officials to ensure that the work moved ahead at a faster pace.
The road from Gadi Adda to Nikas Chauraha is approximately 1 kilometre long and is to be widened to 18 metres. The widening work has already started. Residents are taking action to remove the marked portions affected by the project themselves. Along with this, drain construction work is also in progress by the Municipal Corporation.
The road from Bombay Wale Ki Dharamshala to Dani Gate is approximately 470 metres long and is also to be widened to 18 metres. Residents of the area are cooperating with the project by removing the marked portions of their houses themselves. This cooperation is helping the authorities take forward the road-widening work.
The third road, from Gudri Chauraha through Pandariba to Harsiddhi Pal, is approximately 570 metres long and is to be widened to 15 metres. This road has special importance from both religious and traffic perspectives.
The road is among the major routes used during Baba Mahakal’s procession as well as the Simhastha Peshwai. Keeping this importance in view, the widening work has been started to make movement and traffic arrangements smoother.
