Tyagi Brahmin conference proceeds in flooded venue as attendees sit through waterlogging

A Tyagi Brahmin intellectual conference held in Muzzafarnagar on Sunday proceeded despite torrential rainfall that flooded the venue, with attendees sitting in waterlogged conditions to listen to speakers. The event, organized at RK Farmhouse in Sohajoni Tagan, saw participants remain firmly seated even as rainwater accumulated across the premises, demonstrating their commitment to the gathering.

The heavy downpour that struck Muzzafarnagar district on Sunday morning disrupted normal life across the area, and the farmhouse venue was not spared. Water filled the compound, but those who had gathered for the conference refused to leave. Despite the adverse weather and waterlogging, people stayed put and continued listening to the speakers, their enthusiasm undiminished by the conditions. Their resilience became a talking point throughout the event.

Chief guest Rajiv Rai, Member of Parliament from Ghosi, used the platform to question the policies of both the central and state governments. He stated that farmers, laborers, traders, employees, youth, and the general public were grappling with various problems. Rai, representing the Samajwadi Party, assured the community that the party would not disappoint them on matters of political representation and would strongly raise their concerns.

Pramod Tyagi, president of the Muzzafarnagar District Bar Association, senior Samajwadi Party leader, and the event organizer, emphasized the need to stand firm for the community's honor, rights, and political participation. The conference also saw participation from national leaders including Mangeram Tyagi, national president of the Rashtriya Tyagi Bhumihar Brahmin Samaj Samiti, Akshu Tyagi of the Rashtriya Tyagi Bhumihar Mahasabha, regional president Sanjeev Tyagi, Brahmin Khap leaders Virendra Sharma and Dushyant Sharma, and former Bar Association president Rajeshwar Tyagi, among many others from the community.
