Two men arrested for blocking road, performing dangerous stunts for Instagram reels

Two young men have been arrested in Pratapgarh district for blocking a road and performing dangerous stunts while making reels for social media. Police identified the accused as Akash Pasi and his brother Vikas Pasi, both residents of Mahewa Mohanpur in the Hathigawan police station area.

The incident occurred on August 27 on the Purnemau-Benti road during Akash Pasi's birthday celebration. According to police, Vikas Pasi and several friends blocked the road using a Desire VXI car bearing registration number DL1CAH3861 along with multiple two-wheelers. The group then performed dangerous stunts, driving recklessly and carelessly. Akash and Vikas even stood on the car roof to shoot reels, which were later posted on Instagram.

A case was registered at Hathigawan police station under FIR number 184/2026, invoking sections 281, 125, 292, and 3(5) of the BNS. The charges include endangering public safety and obstructing traffic. The arrests were made by a police team led by Inspector-in-Charge Satyendra Singh under the supervision of Circle Officer Kunda Shiv Narayan Vaish and Additional Superintendent of Police West Brijnanandan Rai, following directives from Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar.

Police have issued a strong appeal to the public, warning against performing stunts, driving recklessly, or blocking roads in pursuit of likes, comments, and social media reels. Such acts not only endanger the perpetrators themselves but also put innocent passersby at serious risk. Authorities have made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone violating traffic rules, and further legal proceedings are underway in this case. The incident highlights growing concerns about dangerous social media trends compromising road safety across the country.
