Rorawar police in Aligarh have arrested three accused and sent them to jail in connection with an attack on a trader and his nephew over a demand for payment on Marghat Road in the Rorawar police station area. The attack was allegedly carried out with an iron rod and a sharp weapon after a dispute over money escalated.

According to the complaint, Danish, son of Sharif and a resident of ADA Colony, Shahjamal, is involved in the iron scrap business. The victim stated that Shahnawaz, a resident of Shahjamal Marghat Road, and his sons Shahzeb, Abdullah and Rayyan used to buy iron scrap from him on cash credit.

As per Danish, an amount of Rs 64,000 was pending against Shahnawaz for scrap material. On Monday, around 12 o’clock, Danish went on his scooter to Shahnawaz’s factory to demand the pending amount. He was carrying Rs 46,000 in the storage compartment of the scooter.

The complaint says that Danish’s nephew, Shan Mohammad, was also present there and was demanding his own money. It is alleged that Shahzeb, Abdullah and Rayyan were abusing him. Shan Mohammad objected, saying he needed the money to make payment to an outside trader. The argument then intensified.

According to the allegation, on Shahzeb’s instruction, the accused attacked Shan Mohammad with the intention of killing him. The complaint states that Abdullah had a knife in his hand, while Shahnawaz was carrying an iron rod.

When Danish tried to intervene and stop the assault, he too was beaten up. Shan Mohammad suffered serious injuries in the attack, according to the complaint.

It is further alleged that during the incident, Rayyan fled with Danish’s scooter. People from the nearby area, including Baseem, Vilal and Mahid, reached the spot and rescued both Danish and Shan Mohammad from the accused.

The complaint also states that while leaving, the accused threatened to kill them if they came again to demand the money.
