The theft occurred at Sanskar Educational Academy in Daadi on the evening of August 22, after the school manager locked the premises and left for home. When he returned the next morning around 9 am on August 23, he discovered that the Samsung LED TV installed in the school was missing. A complaint was immediately filed at Mandhata police station, triggering an investigation.
Acting on information from an informer, a police team led by Station House Officer Dhananjay Rai conducted the operation under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Alok Kumar and Circle Officer Raniganj Prashant Raj. The drive was part of a larger campaign being conducted under the direction of Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar. During interrogation, the accused revealed they had attempted to hide the stolen television by dividing it among themselves. The TV was subsequently recovered based on their identification.
Police have now invoked Section 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in the case. The police team that executed the operation included Sub-Inspector Doodhnath Pal, Sub-Inspector Arvind Kushwaha, Constable Pankaj Kumar, Reserve Constable Praveen Kumar Nigam, Reserve Constable Ujala Singh, and Reserve Constable Amit.
