State Minister Shukla orders urgent action on Kanpur electricity crisis

State Minister Pratibha Shukla has adopted a strict stance on the deepening electricity crisis affecting Maitha, Rura, Raniya, and Akbarpur areas in Kanpur Dehat district. During a review meeting with power department officials at Circuit House Mati on Wednesday, she issued clear instructions that no negligence in resolving public grievances will be tolerated.

The minister directed officials to prioritize electricity complaints received from local representatives and the general public, ensuring swift action on all grievances. She emphasized that uninterrupted power supply must be guaranteed in rural and semi-urban areas, with arbitrary power cuts strictly prohibited. The issue of low voltage and inadequate transformer capacity plaguing the region was also discussed, with Shukla instructing officials to resolve these problems at the earliest.

In a significant directive, the minister told power department officials not to confine themselves to their offices but to conduct regular field inspections to monitor ground-level conditions. The instruction reflects the government's intent to ensure accountability and hands-on supervision of electricity infrastructure and service delivery.

The review meeting was attended by State Minister's representative Bauwa Pandey, Chief Engineer Sandeep Gupta, Superintending Engineer Manish Gupta, Executive Engineer Brajesh Kumar, and other senior officials from the department. The gathering underscored the administration's focus on addressing the persistent power supply challenges that have been affecting residents and businesses across these areas.

The minister's firm approach signals the state government's commitment to improving electricity services in the affected regions, where inadequate power supply has been a longstanding concern impacting daily life and economic activities.
