SSB 62nd Battalion celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with grand procession and rituals
The 62nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal in Bhinga, Shravasti, commenced the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi on 14.09.2026 with religious fervour, enthusiasm and great joy.
The 62nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal in Bhinga, Shravasti, commenced the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi on 14.09.2026 with religious fervour, enthusiasm and great joy. The event was organised under the leadership of Shri Amarendra Kumar Varun, Commandant of the 62nd Battalion.
On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, a grand procession carrying the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken out from the main gate of the battalion headquarters, passing through the battalion's residential family quarters before reaching the worship pandal located in the temple premises. Personnel of the force, Sandeeksha members and their children participated enthusiastically amid the resonance of drums and nagadas, devotional songs and dance performances. During this time, the atmosphere became devotion-filled with the chants of 'Ganpati Bappa Morya'.
At the worship pandal, the idol of Lord Ganesha was installed and worshipped following proper rituals and Vedic chanting of mantras. This was followed by bhajan-kirtan, collective aarti and distribution of prasad.
The Ganesh puja will be organised daily within the battalion premises for the next ten days. The festival will conclude on 25 September 2026 with the ritualistic immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha and the organisation of a bhandara.
On this occasion, Commandant Shri Amarendra Kumar Varun extended his best wishes for Ganesh Chaturthi to all personnel and their family members. He said that such festivals play an important role in keeping alive our rich cultural and spiritual traditions while strengthening mutual brotherhood, unity, goodwill and family harmony.
The event was attended by Sandeeksha President Smt. Prerna Sharma, Deputy Commandant Shri Piyush Sinha, Assistant Commandant Shri Rahul Bharat Mali, Assistant Commandant Shri Gautam Azad, Medical Officer Dr. Kalpana Patil Assistant Commandant, subordinate officers, personnel, Sandeeksha members and their children.
