Take up Natural Farming, MLA and Collector Urge Farmers in Srikalahasti

Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy and District Collector S. Venkateswar have emphasized the State government's commitment to promoting natural farming and urged farmers to adopt eco-friendly agricultural practices. Their appeal was made during a visit to the three-acre farm of natural farmer A. Pushpa at Vedaam village in Srikalahasti mandal on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

During the visit, the officials observed Ms. Pushpa's innovative methods, including seed preparation and the use of natural pesticides such as solid and liquid Jeevamritam, which are derived from cow-based products. Ms. Pushpa demonstrated her technique of mixing seeds with ash and Jeevamritam to prevent pest attacks before sowing them in the field.

Collector Venkateswar engaged with Ms. Pushpa, inquiring about various aspects of her farming practices, including fodder availability, soil fertility, reduced input costs, and the financial benefits of natural farming. He reiterated the government's support for such methods, citing their potential to lower farming costs and protect the environment.

Later, the Collector distributed urea to farmers, reminding them that applications for urea must be submitted through the APAIMS mobile app. Both he and MLA Sudheer Reddy also operated a hand-driven transplanter to replant paddy crops, encouraging farmers to adopt mechanized farming techniques to reduce labor costs.

Market Committee Chairman Chenchiah Naidu, Revenue Divisional Officer Bhanuprakash Reddy, District Agriculture Officer Prasada Rao, and Additional Director (Agriculture) Dhananjaya Reddy were present at the event.
