SP spokesperson Sandeep Vishwakarma absconding after attempted murder case in Pratapgarh

Police in Pratapgarh have announced a reward of 25,000 rupees for information leading to the arrest of Sandeep Vishwakarma, national spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party's Lohia Vahini, who is accused of attempted murder and other serious offenses. Vishwakarma has been on the run since a case was registered against him at the Nagar Kotwali police station in connection with a dispute at a post-mortem facility.

The case stems from the aftermath of a brutal murder on the night of August 13, when Saurabh Vishwakarma, also known as Monu, a computer operator in the supply department, was beaten to death over a personal dispute and enmity. Saurabh was returning home to Hariharpura Sindhaur village in the Leelapur police station area from Lalganj on his motorcycle when he was attacked. Following the murder, his body was sent for post-mortem examination.

According to the complaint filed by Avinash Saroj, Sandeep Vishwakarma allegedly assaulted and abused him at the post-mortem house, and even threatened to kill him. Based on this complaint, police registered a case against Sandeep under various sections including attempted murder and provisions of the SC-ST Act, along with charges of assault, abuse, and altercation with police.

The Superintendent of Police has formed multiple teams to track down the accused, who has remained absconding since the case was filed. City Circle Officer Ashutosh Mishra confirmed that three police teams have been deployed to apprehend Vishwakarma. Authorities are conducting continuous raids at suspected hideouts. The announcement of the cash reward is aimed at encouraging public cooperation in securing his arrest and bringing him to justice in this serious matter.
