Soldier Jitendra Sharma's Funeral Held in Aligarh After Assam Plane

The mortal remains of Air Force Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, who lost his life in the Assam plane crash, were brought to his ancestral village, Salpur, in Aligarh. The funeral was conducted with military and political honors in a field 200 meters away from his home. His elder brother, Ramakant Sharma, performed the last rites. Hundreds of people gathered at the ceremony, chanting slogans such as 'Jitendra Sharma Amar Raho'.

Jitendra's mother was inconsolable upon seeing the coffin and lamented that she had been preparing for his wedding. She expressed her grief, saying, "My dear son, my soldier Jitu... where have you gone? Come back once, your mother is waiting for you. I long to hear your voice, son... come back once." The coffin was not opened due to the condition of the body, which was severely burned in the crash.

The tragic incident occurred on June 13 at around 10 a.m. when an Indian Air Force AN-32 cargo plane crashed during landing. Five personnel, including Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, lost their lives in the accident. Jitendra had joined the Air Force 11 years ago.
