Initial information indicates that the constable was shot during an operation to stop a suspected pickup vehicle loaded with liquor. Ajit Kumar later died while undergoing treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the incident and the sequence in which the shots were fired are being examined. Investigators are looking into the role of each arrested person, the weapon allegedly used in the incident and the reported sequence of events.

The investigation and forensic evidence will establish what happened and help verify the alleged account of the incident. The matter also raises questions about departmental accountability and the need for an impartial investigation.
