Ratlam man arrested for celebratory firing in Jhirnia village, gun seized

Birlagram police in Ujjain district have arrested one accused in a celebratory firing incident that took place in Jhirnia village a few days ago, as part of the ongoing campaign against crimes and illegal weapons in the district.

The police team conducted a continuous investigation based on technical and other evidence in connection with the incident and successfully identified the masked accused as Irfan, son of Rais, age 40 years, resident of Samata Nagar, Ratlam.

The police team searched for the accused and arrested him from near Salakhedi Chowki located in Ratlam. The gun used in the incident has been seized from the possession of the accused.

Police teams are making continuous efforts to identify and arrest other accused involved in the case. The other accused will also be arrested soon and legal action will be taken against them.

The swift action by Birlagram police station comes under the district-wide drive being conducted against the prevention of crimes and illegal weapons in Ujjain district. The investigation into the celebratory firing incident at Jhirnia village relied on technical evidence and other forms of proof to unmask and locate the accused. Police have confirmed that efforts to track down the remaining suspects in the case are ongoing and further arrests are expected in the coming days.
