Rae Bareli Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Shelter, Fake IDs For Uzbek Woman

Salone Kotwali police in Rae Bareli district have arrested a man for allegedly providing illegal shelter in India to a woman from Uzbekistan and getting fake Indian identity documents prepared for her. The police investigation found that the visa of the foreign woman had expired on 23 October 2025.

The arrested accused has been identified as Rashid alias Sameer, a resident of Raniganj in the Lalganj police station area of Pratapgarh district. According to the police, the case concerns the woman’s stay in India and the preparation of documents showing an Indian identity for her.

During questioning, it came to light that the Uzbek citizen, Madina Khon, had come to Delhi in search of a job. The police said Rashid came in contact with her by offering help. He allegedly got documents related to Indian residence prepared for the woman.

On the basis of these documents, her Aadhaar card, PAN card and other identity-related documents were allegedly made. Police claimed that these Indian documents were being used to keep the woman in India illegally and to enable her to earn a livelihood.

During the action, police recovered a debit card, an Aadhaar card, a PAN card and a mobile phone from the accused’s possession. They also recovered three photocopies of the woman’s passport and visa.

The police have registered a case under the relevant sections and started further legal action. The investigation is continuing into the documents prepared for the Uzbek woman, the circumstances of her stay in India after the expiry of her visa, and the alleged role of the arrested accused in the matter.
