Radha Govind University celebrates Vishwakarma Jayanti with grand puja ceremony

Vishwakarma Jayanti was celebrated with great fervour and devotion at the Faculty of Engineering workshop of Radha Govind University, honouring the deity of creation and craftsmanship.

The auspicious programme marking Lord Vishwakarma's birth anniversary was inaugurated by Radha Govind University Chancellor Pavan Sharma and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manoj Tomar, who performed lamp lighting and garlanding before the picture of Lord Vishwakarma.

Following the inauguration, the university priest conducted the Vishwakarma puja and havan with Vedic chants. Elaborate rituals were performed for all the instruments, equipment, machines and vehicles used across the university's engineering workshop, mechanical lab, electrical lab, computer centre lab, civil department and transport department.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chancellor said that Lord Vishwakarma is not merely a deity but a symbol of skill, hard work, technology and honest labour. Just as Lord Vishwakarma constructed palaces and weapons for the gods, today's youth can also contribute to nation-building through their technical skills, he added.

The Vice-Chancellor extended greetings to all the staff and students on the occasion and emphasised making all students self-reliant by connecting them with the Skill India and Make in India missions.

The programme concluded with a bhandara and distribution of prasad organised for all students and staff members.

Among those present on the occasion were Radha Govind University Administrative Officer Dr. Akhilesh Shukla, Dinesh Singh Negi, Dean Academic Dr. Khoob Singh, Director Pharmacy Dr. Pankaj Babu, all heads of departments, Anil Sharma, Surendra Singh, Nitin Singh Chauhan, Suresh Pal, Pushpendra Maurya, Mudit Sharma who is the workshop in-charge, faculty members, non-teaching staff and hundreds of students.

The celebration at Chandausi reflected the university's commitment to honouring the traditions associated with engineering and technical education while inspiring students to embrace modern missions of skill development and manufacturing excellence.
