Pratapgarh police arrest two warrant accused in separate criminal cases

Police in Pratapgarh have arrested two warrant accused following non-bailable warrant orders issued by the court. The Sangramgarh police station conducted the operation as part of an ongoing drive to apprehend wanted and warrant accused under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, Pratapgarh.

The first accused, identified as Kamlesh Kumar Patel, 55, son of Sarju Patel and resident of Lala Ka Purwa under Sangramgarh police station jurisdiction, was arrested from a shop in Sangramgarh market. He was wanted in Criminal Case Number 181/2020, Original Case Number 184/2018, under Section 138 of the Electricity Act. Police sources confirmed that he was taken into custody following the NBW issued against him in this case.

The second accused, Hiralal Patel, 65, also son of Sarju Patel and a resident of Bawliya under Sangramgarh police station, was arrested from his residence. Court had issued non-bailable warrants against him in two separate cases. The first was Criminal Case Number 1815/2021, Original Case Number 81/85, under Sections 380 and 411 of the Indian Penal Code, while the second was Criminal Case Number 3617/2020, Original Case Number 48/91, under Sections 399 and 401 of the IPC.

According to police officials, both the accused were arrested from different locations and are being produced before the court. The arrest operation was carried out by a team comprising Sub-Inspector Anshu Singh Sengar, Constable Vikram Singh, and Recruit Constable Arun Kumar from Sangramgarh police station. The action forms part of a sustained campaign launched by the district police to track down and arrest absconding accused against whom warrants have been issued by various courts.
