Potholes claim daily casualties as Pratapgarh-Jaunpur road crumbles neglected

A major road connecting Patti in Pratapgarh district to Jaunpur district via Aaspur Devsara has fallen into a severely deteriorated condition in recent days. Large potholes have appeared at numerous locations along the route, creating significant difficulties for commuters traveling on this key thoroughfare.

Two-wheeler riders are falling into the potholes and meeting with accidents on an almost daily basis. Despite the dangerous situation, the attention of public representatives and responsible officials has not been drawn to the problem. Local residents say the road has been in a dilapidated state for a long time. Vehicle drivers are being forced to maneuver carefully to avoid the potholes. The situation becomes even worse at night. Owing to the road's poor condition, a major accident can occur at any time. This has created anger among the people toward the responsible department.

Local residents Sandeep Kumar, Suraj, Bipat, Rakesh Kumar, Manish, Durgesh Singh and others have demanded that the road be repaired soon, drawing the attention of responsible officials to the matter. The villagers say that if the road is not repaired in time, the problem could become more serious.

OP Chaurasia, Assistant Engineer of the PWD, has stated that the condition of the road is known. He said the road will be repaired soon.
