Police offer 25,000 rupees reward each for two men who attacked constable with spade

Two men wanted for attacking a police constable with a spade during a patrol in the Kunda police station area of Pratapgarh now have a reward of twenty-five thousand rupees each on their heads, announced by Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar. Police have arrested one named accused in the case and sent him to jail, while raids are being conducted continuously to apprehend Brijesh Saroj and Mohit.

The incident took place on the night of 10 September. Constable Ajit Kumar, posted at Kunda police station, was on patrol duty along with fellow police personnel. Around midnight, near Kotila Akhtiyari, the policemen attempted to stop five youths who were coming on a motorcycle. An argument began between the police and the youths during this encounter. It is alleged that when the dispute escalated, one of the youths attacked Constable Ajit Kumar with a spade. The constable was seriously injured in the assault.

Following the incident, police at Kunda police station registered a case based on the injured constable's complaint and began searching for the accused. A case was registered against three named individuals and two unknown persons. Based on the constable's statement, residents of Kotila Akhtiyari, Dharampal, Brijesh Saroj and Mohit, were named in the complaint. In addition, a case was also registered against two unidentified accused under various sections including attempted murder.

Police took action and arrested the named accused Dharampal. After interrogation and necessary legal proceedings, he was sent to jail. Meanwhile, police teams are continuously conducting raids at possible hideouts to arrest the absconding Brijesh Saroj and Mohit.

Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar has announced a reward of twenty-five thousand rupees each for the arrest of both the fugitive accused. Police say that continuous efforts are being made to apprehend the accused. The investigation into the case is ongoing as authorities work to bring all those responsible for the attack on the constable to justice.
