Pratapgarh Police Give Bicycles, Essential Kits to 1,525 Village Watchmen

At a programme held at the parade ground of the Police Lines in Pratapgarh, Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar distributed essential resources among village watchmen in the presence of Sadar MLA Rajendra Maurya and Vishwanathganj MLA Jeet Lal Patel.

A total of 325 village watchmen were given bicycles, while 1200 village watchmen received a set comprising a whistle, a cord and a dhoti. The distribution was part of an initiative to strengthen the police information network in rural areas.

The programme aimed to provide village watchmen with the resources required for their work, increase the reach of the police in rural areas and strengthen the flow of information to the police. Village watchmen play an important role in conveying information about activities taking place in villages to the police.

The availability of bicycles and other items will make it easier for the village watchmen to carry out their responsibilities. The programme was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police (Eastern) Alok Kumar, along with other police officers and public representatives.

During the programme, security arrangements were also made, with surveillance carried out using a drone camera.
