Police arrest 65-year-old warrant accused in 26-year-old theft case

Bagharai police in Pratapgarh have arrested a warrant accused in a 26-year-old theft case, apprehending him from a tea shop in Bagharai town acting on an informer's tip.

The arrest was made in compliance with an arrest warrant issued by the court. Police carried out the operation under the direction of Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar, who has launched a campaign to arrest wanted and warrant accused across the district.

As part of this ongoing campaign, Bagharai police were searching for warrant accused when they received information from an informer. Acting on the tip-off, police arrested Bhimraj Singh alias Bhim Singh, aged 65, son of Shitla Bax Singh, resident of village Lakhanpur, Nawabganj police station, district Prayagraj, from a tea shop in Bagharai town.

According to police, an arrest warrant had been issued by the court against the accused in case number 474/1996 under section 379 IPC (theft). Police informed the warrant accused about the court order, took him into custody and carried out necessary legal action.

Sub-Inspector Jai Susheel Mishra from Bagharai police station, Pratapgarh district, was part of the police team that executed the arrest.
