A case involving allegations of rape, blackmail, and forced religious conversion has emerged in Nagpur. According to the police, the victim, a 24-year-old married woman, filed a complaint leading to the arrest of two accused, Ayaz Taj Madare (26) and Amin Sheikh (30), both residents of Kalmeshwar. A cleric, Hazrat Maulana from Tamia, Madhya Pradesh, is absconding, and efforts are underway to locate him.

The woman, whose husband is employed with the Indian Air Force and stationed in another city, runs a property business. She alleged that in February 2025, Ayaz, a former classmate, contacted her under the pretext of purchasing a plot. She claimed that Ayaz took her to a hotel on Wardha Road, where she was given a drink laced with a sedative. While unconscious, she was sexually assaulted, and the act was recorded on video. The accused later used the video to blackmail her, extorting ₹3.9 lakh and subjecting her to further exploitation.

The viral video reportedly shows the accused reciting religious verses and performing rituals on the woman. The victim alleged that on May 31, Ayaz took her to Kalmeshwar, where she met Amin Sheikh and Hazrat Maulana. The three allegedly performed rituals at a secluded location, claiming to have converted her religion. She further accused them of attempting another sexual assault.

The case came to light three days ago when the victim confided in her husband upon his return. Following their complaint at Songav Police Station, a case was registered under charges of rape, extortion, forced conversion, and provisions of the Maharashtra Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act. The arrested accused have been remanded to five days of police custody, while the search for Hazrat Maulana continues.
