A married woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district has expressed her wish to live with her husband and young daughter, while alleging that she faces a threat to her life from her parental family. The woman, identified as Chandni, daughter of Zahid and a resident of Mohalla Chamaran in Budhana, has submitted an application to the police seeking protection and legal action in the matter.

In her application, Chandni said that she had married Asif, son of Mehboob and a resident of village Parasoli, around three years ago. According to her, the marriage took place in a simple ceremony. The couple has a daughter named Anya.

Chandni has alleged that a few months after the marriage, members of her parental family began pressuring her to take a divorce from her husband. She has said that she does not want to end the marriage and wishes to continue living with her husband and daughter.

The woman further alleged that some time ago, her father Zahid, mother Soni and brother Javed, along with some other people, assaulted her husband and took her away with them against her wishes. She has made these allegations in the application submitted to the police.

According to Chandni, she returned to her matrimonial home of her own free will on 14 October 2026 at around 4 pm. She said that she returned along with her young daughter. After this, she allegedly began receiving threats from the accused members of her parental family.

In the application, Chandni has expressed serious concern about the safety of her husband, daughter and members of her matrimonial family. She has alleged that she is being pressured to take a divorce and return to her parental home.

She has also alleged that she was threatened with being killed if she did not follow those instructions. According to the complaint, threats were also allegedly issued to implicate her and her family members in false cases.

Chandni has expressed apprehension that an untoward incident could take place involving her and her family. She has requested police officials to take cognisance of her complaint, initiate action according to law and provide security to her, her husband and her daughter.

The matter has also been linked to a family dispute involving two sisters and two biological brothers, who had married into the same family. The material accompanying the complaint alleges that, because of a dispute involving one sister and her brother-in-law, the girl’s relatives were trying to break up the other daughter’s home.

The case falls under the Budhana police station area. The allegations made in the application have not yet been independently confirmed. The complete situation is expected to become clear after statements from the concerned parties and an official response from the police.

A byte from the woman is also part of the report. Attention is now focused on the action to be taken by the police in the matter, which concerns the woman’s choice regarding her married life and her demand for security.
