Muzaffarnagar Police Claim Rohan Murder Solved, Arrest Two After Encounter

Police in Muzaffarnagar have claimed to have solved the murder case of a youth, Rohan, whose body was linked to the forest area of village Hareti under Purkazi police station limits. Two accused have been arrested after a police encounter, and both were injured during the exchange of fire.

According to police, the encounter took place during checking on the night of 24/25 September under Bhainsani bridge. A police team tried to stop a car and a bike. On seeing the police, the people in both vehicles allegedly tried to flee.

Police said the accused abandoned the vehicles and opened fire at the police team. In response, the police fired back in self-defence. During this retaliatory action, Nazim, son of Muzaffar Hussain and a resident of Sangipur, Haridwar, and Shavez, son of Ifzur Rehman and a resident of Zaheerpur, Saharanpur, were injured.

Both injured accused were arrested after the encounter and admitted to hospital for treatment.

Police said several items were recovered from the possession of the accused. These include the deceased’s R One-5 motorcycle, a smart watch, an Apple mobile phone, the Toyota Corolla Altis car used in the incident, two country-made pistols, five live cartridges, two spent cartridges and Rs 1050.

During questioning, according to police, the accused said that on the night of 23/24 September, Nazim hit Rohan with a car on the Hareti-Zaheerpur road. Police said both accused later reached the spot. After identifying Rohan as the son of the gram pradhan of Hareti, they allegedly killed him.

After the killing, the accused allegedly fled from the spot with Rohan’s bike and mobile phone.

Police said further legal action in the case is being carried out by a joint team of Purkazi police station and the SOG.
