Muslim devotee fulfills vow with Ramayan recitation at temple after child's birth

A Muslim devotee has organised an unbroken Ramayan recitation at the renowned Samay Mata temple located at Sagra pond in the Gilaula police station area of Shravasti, fulfilling a vow made for the birth of a child and once again turning the shrine into a symbol of communal harmony and steadfast faith.

Hausil son of Budhai, a resident of Nauvvan Purva in Kot Mubarakpur and a member of the Muslim community, had been waiting for years to become a father while enduring social taunts. When his prayers were finally answered and the sound of an heir echoed in his home, he arranged the religious ceremony at the temple to honour his pledge to the deity.

Hausil and his wife had remained childless for many years after marriage, a matter of deep concern for the family. After hearing from local people about the glory of the Samay Mata temple at Sagra pond, Hausil visited the shrine, bowed before the goddess and prayed for the blessing of a child. He believed that no one returns empty-handed from the deity's threshold.

Rejoicing in the fulfilment of his wish through the goddess's grace and the arrival of a child in his household, Hausil kept his vow. He arranged an unbroken Ramayan recitation at the Samay Mata temple premises according to ritual. Following the conclusion of the recitation, havan and worship were performed, after which a grand community feast was organised. Hundreds of devotees from the area partook of the prasad. The event, which transcends religious boundaries through faith and devotion, is being widely appreciated across the entire region.
