Mumbai-Himachal Pradesh Ranji Trophy Match Begins At Bilaspur Stadium After 25 Years

The Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai and Himachal Pradesh has begun at the Luhnu Cricket Stadium in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar inaugurated the match and extended his best wishes to the players of both teams for their performance.

The match at the Luhnu Cricket Stadium will continue for four days. The contest has generated enthusiasm among cricket lovers in the district, as players from Mumbai and Himachal Pradesh get an opportunity to showcase their talent on the field.

During the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar encouraged both teams to perform well while maintaining the spirit of the game. The match is being seen as an important sporting event at the stadium, which is hosting a Ranji match after 25 years.

During the programme, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar expressed concern over the drug-related situation in Bilaspur district. He said that 27 panchayats of the district are included in the red zone in connection with drug-related cases.

Rahul Kumar said that keeping young people away from drugs and making society drug-free are among the administration’s priorities. He said the administration is taking appropriate steps to increase awareness against drugs and to make panchayats drug-free.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need for collective efforts to make the campaign against drugs effective. He said that the drug problem can be effectively curbed only with the participation of panchayat representatives, social organisations, parents and the general public, along with the administration.

The Ranji Trophy fixture has therefore brought a major cricket event to Bilaspur while also providing a platform for the administration to highlight the importance of sports and awareness in the fight against drugs. The four-day match between Mumbai and Himachal Pradesh will remain the central sporting attraction at the Luhnu Cricket Stadium.
