Police in Morena have used JCB machines to block two major routes allegedly used for the illegal transportation of sand. The action was taken as part of a special campaign launched to stop illegal sand mining and transportation from the Chambal River area.

The Bagchini and Devgarh police stations identified two important routes that were being used for the illegal movement of sand. The police had pits dug on both routes with the help of JCB machines and blocked them.

Police believe that closing these routes will help restrict the movement of tractors with trolleys loaded with sand, dumpers and other heavy vehicles. The action is intended to stop vehicles from using these routes for illegal sand transportation.

The first action was taken in the Bagchini police station area. A route leading from Daunari village was dug up with the help of a JCB machine and obstructed.

The second route was blocked in the Devgarh police station area. This route was located near the bridge over the Quarry River in Sihori village. The road leading from near the bridge was dug up and closed.

The police had identified these routes as possible paths for the illegal transportation of sand. There was a suspicion that tractors with trolleys and other vehicles were being used on the routes for this activity. By blocking the roads, the police have arranged to stop the movement of vehicles through them.

Instructions have been issued to police officers and station in-charges to take effective action against illegal sand mining and transportation in the Chambal River area. As part of the campaign, routes across the district that are used for the illegal transportation of sand are being identified.

The police action is aimed at protecting natural resources and preventing the loss of government revenue caused by illegal mining. The authorities are focusing on routes that could enable the movement of sand from areas where illegal extraction is suspected.

According to SP Dharmaraj Meena, the police are maintaining continuous surveillance in sensitive areas of the district. Other routes used for illegal sand transportation will also be identified.

The SP said that, if required, those routes would also be blocked in the same manner. The police intend to use this action to bring effective control over activities related to illegal sand extraction and transportation.
