Mohan Yadav Slams Congress Over Election Defeat, EVM Allegations

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has asked the Congress to introspect over its electoral defeat instead of blaming the Election Commission. His remarks came in response to the Congress protest at Jantar Mantar and the allegations being levelled against the poll panel.

Taking a sharp swipe at the party, Yadav said, “हार में आयोग दोषी, जीत में आयोग सही? ये कांग्रेस का दोहरा चरित्र है।” He said this showed that the Congress considers the Election Commission impartial and EVMs correct when it wins an election, but shifts the entire blame to the Commission and EVMs as soon as it faces defeat.

The chief minister said the Congress should examine its own performance rather than make the Election Commission the scapegoat for its loss. He said the people of the country had rejected the Congress and that the party had no issue left to raise.

According to Dr Yadav, the Congress was therefore questioning constitutional institutions and trying to defame democracy. He said the party should think about its policies instead of creating a commotion on the streets.

The comments came amid the Congress’s demonstration at Jantar Mantar, where the party has been raising allegations against the Election Commission. Yadav’s response focused on what he described as the Congress’s “double character”: accepting the Commission and EVMs when the result goes in its favour, while attacking both when the result goes against it.
