Mohan Yadav inspects new Collector's office and road widening projects in Ujjain

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday inspected the construction of the new Collector's office building in Ujjain, which is being built by the Building Development Corporation. The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the multi-storey administrative complex that will house key district offices and is expected to improve the delivery of public services once completed.

During his visit, Dr Yadav also examined the ongoing Sati Gate road widening project being executed by the Ujjain Municipal Corporation. The widening work is part of efforts to ease traffic congestion in the historic temple city, which witnesses heavy footfall throughout the year, particularly during religious festivals. The Chief Minister was briefed on the timeline and progress of both infrastructure projects by officials on site.

Public representatives and senior administrative officers accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection. Dr Yadav directed officials to ensure that both projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality. He emphasized the importance of these infrastructure upgrades for Ujjain, which holds religious and cultural significance and attracts lakhs of pilgrims annually.

The Collector's office building is being developed to replace the existing older structure and will provide modern amenities and better facilities for both staff and citizens. The road widening at Sati Gate is aimed at improving connectivity and reducing traffic bottlenecks in one of the busiest areas of the city.

The Chief Minister's visit underscores the state government's focus on infrastructure development in Ujjain, which is preparing to host the Simhastha Kumbh Mela in the coming years. Both projects are expected to significantly enhance the city's administrative efficiency and urban infrastructure.
