A missile attack near the Hormuz Strait targeted the oil tanker 'Settebello', which was carrying 28 crew members, including 24 Indians. The attack caused a fire in the engine room, and while 21 individuals were rescued, 3 Indians remain missing. The tanker, flagged under Palau, was located approximately 37 kilometers from Oman’s Sohar port at the time of the incident. The identity of the attackers is still unknown. India has condemned the attack, and the Ministry of External Affairs stated that the Indian Embassy in Oman is coordinating with local authorities on search and rescue operations.

Separately, PM Narendra Modi addressed an NDA meeting, marking his 4,399th day in office as India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister. In other developments, Ahmedabad's metro network is set to expand with the approval of Phase 2(A), connecting Koteshwar Road to the airport. This 6-kilometer corridor will include five stations, one of which will be underground. The metro network's total length will increase to 78 kilometers.
