Mirzapur police seize ₹1.5 crore in property from gang leader Imran

Mirzapur police have taken significant action against gang leader Imran, confiscating property worth ₹1.5 crore under the Gangster Act. The joint operation by police and administrative officials targeted land allegedly acquired through illegal activities. The confiscated property, located in Mauja Tirsath, spans over 1.05 hectares and is valued at approximately ₹1.50 crore, according to police records.

Imran, son of Ishrar Khan, has been facing legal troubles since 2015, with eight cases registered against him across Mirzapur and Varanasi. These include charges of fraud, forgery, assault, and intimidation. Police stated that the land was seized under Section 14(1) of the Gangster Act, following an order from the Mirzapur District Magistrate dated August 7, 2026. The operation was conducted in the presence of officials from the Korwan tehsil and police teams from Padri and Korwan.

The crackdown is part of a broader campaign against criminals and gang leaders in the region, led by Mirzapur Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to targeting assets acquired through criminal activities, signaling that such actions will continue in the future.

This latest move highlights the administration's resolve to curb organized crime and send a strong message to offenders. By targeting the financial backbone of criminal networks, police aim to dismantle their operations and deter illegal activities in the district.
