Manoj Singh Patel takes charge as state president of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization

A grand welcome ceremony was organized for Manoj Singh Patel, the newly appointed state president of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization, at the district Congress Committee office in Pratapgarh upon his arrival in the city. Congress workers and office bearers warmly welcomed the state president and presented him with bouquets.

Speaking as the chief guest at the program, Manoj Singh Patel said that the Congress party has always done historic work in the direction of strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions and decentralization of power. Rajiv Gandhi had dreamed of strengthening village government, which Congress realized through the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments. He said that today the need is that Gram Panchayats should get rights, resources and adequate autonomy.

He said that the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization will work to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system by going to every village and will also take the ideology of Congress to the masses.

Special guest Gaurav Pandey, district president of Kaushambi Congress, said that the basic idea of Congress is to give strong participation in the mainstream of democracy to the village, the poor and the common man.

Presiding over the program, Congress district president Dr. Neeraj Tripathi said that the Panchayati Raj system is the strongest foundation of democracy. It is the responsibility of Congress workers to strongly raise the voice of the village, the poor, farmers, laborers and the common people from the Panchayat level to the district and state level.

Om Prakash Saroj, district president of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization, said that the arrival of state president Manoj Patel in Pratapgarh has infused new enthusiasm and energy among the workers of the organization. The organization will work with full commitment to strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions by reaching all Gram Panchayats of the district.
