Man jumps into canal near Rapti Barrage, search underway in Shravasti

A 30-year-old man jumped into a canal near Rapti Barrage in Shravasti district on Monday while returning home with his wife and relatives after Raksha Bandhan celebrations. The incident has triggered a frantic search operation as family members and local residents scramble to locate him.

The man, reported to be a resident of Piparhawa village in the Sirsiया police station area, was traveling back from his in-laws' home in Laxmanpur Kothi along with his wife, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law when the incident occurred. As they reached the canal connecting Rapti Barrage to Sirsiया in the Malhipur police station area, he suddenly jumped into the water.
