Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is committed to protecting the interests of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and is making every effort to establish a just and logical system for reservation. The statement came during a meeting with delegations of the OBC Mahasabha at Samatva Bhawan, located at the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal.

Indore, 16 October 2026: The Chief Minister met the OBC Mahasabha delegations on Friday morning. During the meeting, Dr. Yadav said that the issue of reservation for the Other Backward Classes in the state was extremely important.

He said the state government’s policy and intention regarding OBC reservation were clear. According to him, the government was working not with the intention of delaying the issue, but to find a proper solution to it.

Dr. Yadav said that an all-party meeting had been organised on the issue of OBC reservation. He added that discussions had also been held with all OBC organisations, after which the state government had strongly presented its case before the High Court.

The Chief Minister said that instructions had already been issued for a point-by-point study of the decision given by the High Court in connection with OBC reservation. He said the state government had been directed to present its case firmly before the Supreme Court.

In this process, the Advocate General’s Office, Madhya Pradesh, filed a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court this evening. The petition has been filed as “State of M.P. Versus Ashita Dubey & Others” on the issue of OBC reservation.

The delegations submitted a memorandum to Dr. Yadav regarding the High Court’s decision of 9 October 2026 on 27 percent OBC reservation in Madhya Pradesh. They sought a constitutional solution based on updated data and demanded protection of the interests of OBC candidates.

The OBC Mahasabha Delhi delegation presented its position before the Chief Minister under the leadership of Advocate Vaibhav Singh and Engineer Mahendra Singh Lodhi.

The OBC Mahasabha Gwalior delegation also placed its views before Dr. Yadav. It was led by Mahasabha founder Vijay Kumar, state in-charge Jeetu Lodhi and state president Giriraj Dhadak.
