Madhya Pradesh Congress to Launch Online Membership Drive in December, Target 44 Lakh
The Madhya Pradesh Congress is set to launch a state-wide online membership campaign from December, with the target of increasing its current membership from 22 lakh to 44 lakh.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress is set to launch a state-wide online membership campaign from December, with the target of increasing its current membership from 22 lakh to 44 lakh. The party is preparing to strengthen its organisation in the state by taking the membership drive to the digital platform and expanding its network of active workers.
The campaign will not be limited to getting people to fill out membership forms. The Congress plans to use the process to build a network of workers who remain involved in the party’s activities at the local level.
Under the new system, the complete membership process will be conducted online. People interested in joining the party will have to apply through the Congress membership portal. A fee of 10 रुपए has been fixed for the process. Once the fee is deposited, a membership-related message will be sent to the applicant’s mobile phone.
The party will also prepare a digital record of its members. This record will include details such as the member’s name, विधानसभा क्षेत्र, लोकसभा क्षेत्र and mobile number. The information will be available with the organisation at the district, state and national levels.
The Congress has prepared a plan to take the membership campaign down to the booth level. The party aims to reach 30 thousand families in every विधानसभा across Madhya Pradesh. For this, booth committees and पंचायत committees are being activated.
The party’s plan is to increase the participation of workers at the local level and expand the organisation’s reach. The campaign will therefore involve not only online registration but also preparations at the booth and पंचायत levels.
The Congress is also focusing on preparing booth level agents, or बीएलए, at the state’s 71 thousand polling centres. The formation of committees at the पंचायत level is also part of the organisational preparations for the campaign.
Along with membership, the party plans to collect a सहयोग निधि of 100 रुपए from every member. According to party office-bearers, the purpose of this amount is to strengthen the connection between workers and the organisation. The party wants membership to remain more than a record on paper and aims to encourage members to participate in its activities.
प्रदेश संगठन महासचिव संजय कामले said that this time, special attention would be given to preparing active members along with primary members. He said the सहयोग निधि would be used as an effort to strengthen among workers a sense of belonging and responsibility towards the organisation.
The online membership system, the booth-level network and the role of पंचायत committees are expected to remain central to the campaign. Along with doubling the membership, the Congress has set the goal of increasing the number of workers who participate in organisational activities.
The party’s present membership in Madhya Pradesh stands at 22 lakh, and its target is to take this figure to 44 lakh. The campaign will begin from December, after which the pace of membership growth and the party’s progress in turning online membership into an active ground-level organisation will be watched.
