Kia Syros EV Unveiled With 526 Km Range; Pre-Bookings Open

Kia India has unveiled the Syros EV, its second mass-market electric vehicle in the country, with pre-bookings now open for Rs 25,000 through the company's website and dealerships. The automaker has not announced the SUV's price yet.

Two battery packs and up to 526 km range

The Syros EV will be offered with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs. Kia says the smaller pack has an ARAI-certified MIDC Full range of 443 km, while the extended-range version can cover 526 km under the same test cycle. The larger-battery model produces 171 PS and can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.

According to the company, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes when connected to a 100 kW DC fast charger. A battery-conditioning system manages battery temperature for quicker charging, while the vehicle also supports 10.8 kW AC charging. The IP67-rated battery uses liquid-cooled thermal management.

Warranty, charging network and ownership plans

Kia is offering what it calls a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty, which the company specifies as 15 years and subject to terms and conditions. The ownership package also includes an assured buyback programme and a Battery-as-a-Service financing option.

The MyKia app's K-Charge service brings together more than 20,300 charging points operated by 23 charge-point providers. Users can locate chargers, plan routes and make payments through a single wallet. Kia says over 129 of its dealerships have high-capacity DC fast chargers, while more than 275 workshops are prepared to service electric vehicles.

Cabin technology and safety features

Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity panoramic display panel comprising a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 5-inch climate-control interface. Other listed features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, over-the-air software updates, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and a 16-litre front storage compartment.

The electric SUV also receives Level 2 ADAS with 16 autonomous functions, including collision-avoidance assistance, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-keeping assistance and driver-attention warning. Six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assistance, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and all-wheel disc brakes are among 25 standard safety features claimed by the manufacturer.

Kia plans to sell the Syros EV in seven trims across the two battery options and nine exterior colours. The company shared these specifications in a press release dated July 15, 2026; variant-wise prices and delivery timelines were not disclosed in the release.
