Kanpur Police Recover 24 Kg Stolen Silver Buried In Nanarao Park

Kanpur police have recovered stolen silver that was allegedly hidden after digging the ground inside Nanarao Park. The recovery was made by the Feelkhana police after the arrest of an accused in a theft case.

According to police, 22 small and large silver ingots weighing a total of 24.348 kg were recovered from the accused’s possession and at his instance. Police said the accused had hidden the stolen silver by digging the ground in Nanarao Park, and the material was recovered after he pointed out the spot.

The accused has been identified as Sudhanshu Agrawal, son of Mahesh Agrawal, resident of 28/18 Feelkhana, Kanpur Nagar, aged around 26 years. Police said he was wanted in connection with a theft case registered against him under मु0अ0सं0 62/2026, धारा 305 BNS.

The case relates to the Feelkhana police station area of Kanpur. Police said they had been looking for the accused after the case was registered. On the night of 27/28 September, the police and surveillance team received information about him.

Acting on that information, police laid a cordon in the Phoolmandi area of Feelkhana and arrested Sudhanshu Agrawal. During questioning, police said, the accused gave information about the place where the stolen silver had been concealed.

Based on this information, the police team went to Nanarao Park. Police said the accused had kept the silver hidden underground after digging at the spot. The team then dug up the place identified by him and recovered 22 small and large silver ingots from there. The total weight of the recovered silver has been stated to be 24.348 kilograms.
