Wrestlers Show Strength at 54th Mahatma Gangadas Dangal; Kajal and Vicky Hooda Win Kesari Titles

The 54th Mahatma Gangadas memorial wrestling event was held on Kuchesar Road Chowpla in Hapur. Wrestlers competed in different weight categories as spectators watched the dangal unfold.

Women’s and men’s Kesari titles

Sonipat’s Kajal defeated Olympian Ritika Hooda to win the women’s Kesari title. In the men’s Kesari bout, Vicky Hooda defeated Anirudh, a wrestler from Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi.

74kg results

In the 74kg category, Punjab’s Sandeep Mann finished first, Raipur’s Pushpendra finished second and Ghazipur’s Mulayam Yadav finished third.

57kg Kumari results

In the 57kg Kumari category, Mahadev Academy’s Kirti finished first, Neha Sangwan finished second and Khushi of Yudhveer Akhara finished third. Olympian Pushpendra and several other wrestlers took part in the event.

Main guest and attendees

The main guest at the dangal was Nupur Sheoran, a gold medallist at the 2025 World Cup Boxing event. Those present included minister in charge KP Malik, District Cooperative Bank Ghaziabad chairman Krishanveer Chaudhary, Garh MLA Harendra Tewatia, convenor Chaudhary Pawanveer Singh, president Rinku Chaudhary, vice-president Mukesh Tyagi, Manoj Pradhan Nali, Bittu Tyagi Sikheda, Amit Pradhan Rasulpur, Rahul Tyagi Muradpur, Rahul Yadav, media in-charge Praveen Sharma and many sports lovers.

The event’s main results covered both the women’s and men’s title bouts as well as the two listed weight categories. Kajal, Vicky Hooda, Sandeep Mann, Pushpendra, Mulayam Yadav, Kirti, Neha Sangwan and Khushi were among the wrestlers named in the results.
