IPS Kiran Yadav educates 170 students on cybercrime and safety in Lucknow

Lucknow witnessed an engaging awareness program at Hygia Group of Institutions, where IPS officer Kiran Yadav interacted with approximately 170 students to educate them on critical issues like cybercrime, women’s safety, anti-ragging measures, and responsible use of social media. The initiative was organized under the vision of Lucknow Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, aiming to empower youth with knowledge and tools to stay safe and responsible.

Addressing the students, IPS Kiran Yadav emphasized that awareness is the first step to safety. She highlighted the growing risks of cybercrime, urging students to exercise caution while navigating the online world. “Even a small mistake in the digital space can lead to major trouble,” she warned, advising them to protect personal information, passwords, and social media accounts diligently.

The program also tackled the issue of ragging, with Yadav encouraging students to report any incidents to authorities instead of hiding them out of fear. “Staying silent only worsens the problem,” she said, stressing the importance of timely intervention.

Students were introduced to police services like Zero FIR and e-FIR, which enable individuals to file complaints online. Additionally, IPS Yadav informed them about facilities such as Pink Booths, women’s help desks, and MSK (Mahila Samman Kendra), designed to enhance women’s safety.

A significant part of the session focused on the dangers of drug abuse. Yadav explained how substance addiction, often starting casually, can severely impact health, education, career, and family life. She urged students to steer clear of drugs and make informed choices.

The program concluded with the message “Be Aware, Be Safe, Be Responsible,” encouraging students not only to protect themselves but also to contribute positively to society. IPS Kiran Yadav’s interactive session left a lasting impression, equipping the youth with practical knowledge to navigate challenges and become responsible citizens.
