Independence Day in Ghaziabad Celebrated with Flag Hoisting and Tree Planting

The Independence Day celebrations in Ghaziabad were marked by enthusiasm and grandeur under the guidance of District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandad. The event, held at the Collectorate premises, began at 8:00 AM with the hoisting of the national flag by Mr. Mandad, followed by the singing of the national anthem by officials and staff. Students from Sushila Balika Inter College presented a captivating rendition of the patriotic song "Vande Mataram," while children from KDB School and the Divyang students of Neenv Shakti Sanstha showcased heartwarming performances of patriotic songs.

On this auspicious occasion, Mr. Mandad, accompanied by his wife Kavita Meena and other officials, participated in the "Ek Ped Desh Ke Naam" campaign by planting trees within the Collectorate premises. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mandad extended heartfelt Independence Day wishes to the citizens of the district and emphasized the importance of celebrating the day with joy and patriotism. He paid tribute to the freedom fighters and revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives for India's independence, urging everyone to honor their vision by working towards a clean, healthy, prosperous, and developed nation.

Highlighting the significance of environmental and water conservation, Mr. Mandad called on citizens to make these efforts an integral part of their lives. He stressed the need for responsible use of water, rainwater harvesting, and protecting natural resources to ensure a sustainable future for coming generations. He encouraged everyone to actively participate in the "Ek Ped Desh Ke Naam" campaign by planting and nurturing trees, which would contribute to a greener and cleaner India.

The event concluded with the distribution of awards and certificates to students, civil defense wardens, and sports performers for their outstanding achievements. Participants included hundreds of students from various schools, NCC cadets, and Scout and Guide members. Sweet packets were distributed to attendees, adding to the festive spirit. Officials noted that this year's celebrations saw unprecedented enthusiasm, with nearly eight lakh homes, institutions, and offices participating in the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, surpassing the target of six lakh.

Prominent attendees included ADM City Vikas Kashyap, ADM F/R Anjani Kumar Singh, ADM E Jyoti Maurya, ADM J Anjali Gangwar, City Magistrate Satish Chandra Tiwari, and other dignitaries. Following the main event, Mr. Mandad led a tree plantation drive at Vijay Nagar as part of the "Ek Ped Desh Ke Naam" initiative.
